Simple Statement Necklaces

I’m not much of a huge statement necklace person, but I do love a delicate looking bib necklace. I went through a long period of vehemently refusing to buy statement necklaces because I thought they would look silly on me, but one day, in a moment of weak curiosity, I ordered a bib-style necklace from an online shop called bornprettystore.com. Since this site ships from somewhere in Asia, I had completely forgotten about it by the time it came in, but I have loved that one necklace so much that it has changed my jewelry tree substantially.

reindeernecklaceThis is the necklace from bornprettystore.com. It’s a really beautiful statement necklace without any flowers or large beads, basically anything too over the top. I tend to dress very simply, often just in a plain shirt and jeans, so something too wacky would make me look unbalanced. But there is just enough intrigue in this necklace to make a black t-shirt look classy without being overbearing.

bibnecklaceMy second favorite necklace at the moment is this little silver number from Charlotte Russe. Although I normally steer clear of the “tribal” or “native” patterns for reasons beyond the scope of this blog, this necklace appealed to me because the detailing came from what was cut away, not what was added to it. There’s not a whole lot going on, it’s relatively simple, but it’s a welcome change from a silver pendant necklace.

eaglenecklaceThis is my wow factor necklace, which isn’t really that wow considering it, like the silver bib necklace, doesn’t have anything added on top of it, but rather relies on cutouts to create shape. Regardless, I adore this necklace because the shape is so unique, the chain is thick but not linked together like a normal necklace chain, and it’s wide enough to sit comfortably on my chest without taking up my entire collar bone. This one is also from Charlotte Russe, and I picked it up at the same time as the silver bib necklace. The quality of the jewelry from Charlotte Russe is surprisingly good considering the jewelry is usually around $5 a piece.
